Je ne peux pas résister Forever 21 et un autre magasin appelle Garage, il a une vente donc…j’ai fait du shopping :) (bien sur pour mon voyage au Ghana)

I can't resist Forever 21 and another store called Garage was having a sale so...I went shopping :) (for my trip to Ghana of course)

J’ai décroché mes twists dans mes cheveux hier et la nuit dernière je le “pineappled” (quand vous mettez vos cheveux dans les petits chignons afin de dormir). Le front devient un peu crépu, mais j’aime le style "twist out" en général. 

I took down my twists yesterday and last night I "pineappled" it (when you put your hair up into little buns before sleeping).   The front became a little frizzy, but I like the twist out style in general.  

Mais maintenant je suis aller au centre commercial seulement a la Apple Store fixer un bouton sur mon ordinateur portable.  PAS DE SHOPPING (je l’espère ;) )

But now I am going to the mall, only to the Apple Store to fix a button on my laptop. NO SHOPPING (i hope ;) )

Hello ALL!

J’ai fini ma deuxième année à Georgetown la semaine dernière :D ce qui signifie que…JE SUIS PLUS PROCHE AU GHANA!!!

 I finished my sophomore year at Georgetown last week, which means...I am one step closer to GHANA

J’ai décidé plus tôt cette année que je voulais aller à l’étranger pour ma troisième année donc le Ghana pour l’automne et la France pour le printemps!! Mais d'abord: GHANA

 I decieded earlier this year that I wanted to go abroad four my junior year so Ghana in the fall and France in the spring!! But first: GHANA

Hier mes parents ont acheté le billet d’avion donc je dois me préparer…mais je ne sais pas comment commencer  0_o

Yesterday my parents bought the plane ticket so I have to prepare myself...but I don't know how to begin  0_o

En même temps j’ai un stage cet été avec une organisation appelle The Batonga Foundation, Voici le lien: http://www.batongafoundation.org/ Ils aident les filles Africaines aller a l’école secondaire et l’université afin qu’ils puissant devenir les chefs de leurs communautés.  C’est génial et tout le monde doit prendre un coup d’œil

At the same time I have an internship this summer with an organization called The Batonga Foundation.  Here is the link: 

http://www.batongafoundation.org/. They help African girls go to secondary school and university so that they may become leaders in their communities.  Its wonderful and everyone should take a look

Cet été sera actif MAIS je posterai tous mon progrès avec le stage et mon voyage au Ghana…

This summer will be busy BUT I will post my progress with the internship and my trip to Ghana...

What to Wear??

Donc aujourd’hui j’ai été inspiré par Madame Alicia Keys dans le film “The Secret Life of Bees”

So today I was inspired by Ms. Alicia Keys in the film "The Secret Life of Bees"

Pour ceux qui ne savent pas le film….REGARDER (mais d’abord lire le livre).  Les deux sont beaux absolument. 

Il s’agit d’une famille de trios sœurs Noirs qui aident une fille Blanche et sa nourrice Noir, leurs vies dans le sud des Etats Unis pendant les années soixante, et les leçons de vie.  Je ne veux pas le ruiner donc trouver par vous-même plus tard.

For those of you who don't know the movie....WATCH IT (but first read the book).  Both are absolutely beautiful.
It is about a family of Black sisters who help a White girl and her Black nanny,their lives in the the southern United States during the sixties and lessons of life.  I don't want to spoil it so find out more yourselves.

Les Vêtements Naturellement Inspiré       

Naturally Inspired Clothing 

J’ai vu ce chemiser à Forever21.com et je pense qu’il est mignon.  Il est bon marche aussi, mais la qualité ne semble pas très bonne (vous obtenez ce qui vous payez).  L’image est inspire définitivement du petit sketch a Sésame Street avec la petite Muppet avec les cheveux naturels, qui est mignon aussi et une bonne inspiration pour les petites filles avec les cheveux différents. 

I saw this shirt of Forever21.com and I  think it is very cute.  It’s cheap , but the quality does not seem very good (You get what you pay for).  The image is definitely inspired by the sketch on Sesame Street with the little muppet girl with the natural hair, also cute and a wonderful inspiration for young naturals.

But the moral of the story is: Wear your heart on your chest, not your sleeve :D
